Description:A quench and tempered high strength steel used in many applications. Some of the most common uses are applications where high strength and low weight are critical, high impact applications, and high tensile and yield strength uses.
The grades vary depending on thickness and Tassco Steel stocks this material as followed:
Grade B: Up to 1.25”
Grade H: Over 1.25” thru 2”
Grade F: Over 2” thru 2.50”
Grade Q: Over 2.50” thru 6”
Mechanical Properties & Tolerances:
Tensile Strength: Up to 2.50” = 110 to 130 ksi,
Over 2.50” = 100 to 130 ksi,
Yield Strength: Up to 2.50” = 100 ksi min.,
Over 2.50” = 90 ksi min.,
Elongation: Up to 2.50” = 18% in 2”
Over 2.50” to 6” = 16% in 2”,
Brinell: Typical Range = 235 to 295 BHN (usually not noted on mill test reports)
