Description:A quench and tempered through hardened wear resistant steel used in many applications. Some of the most common uses are in heavy abrasion and impact applications.
The “F” chemistry denotes the formability aspect and is more commonly stocked. It has all the characteristics of non F 400, but the added dimension of formability and can handle higher impact applications as well.
Tassco Steel stocks this material from 3/16” up to 4” thick.
Mechanical Properties & Tolerances:
Tensile Strength: Typical Range = 180 to 200 ksi (Not intended for structural applications)
Yield Strength: Typical = 140 ksi (Not intended for structural applications)
Elongation: 14.8% in 8”
Brinell: Typical Range = 360 min to 444 HB
