Description:A quench and tempered through hardened wear resistant steel used in many applications. Some of the most common uses are in severe impact and abrasion applications.
The “F” chemistry denotes the formability aspect and is more commonly stocked. It has all the characteristics of non F 500, but the added dimension of formability and can handle higher impact applications as well. This product will out perform AR 400 by 1-1/2 to 2 times.
Tassco Steel stocks this material from 3/16” up to 3” thick.
Mechanical Properties & Tolerances:
Tensile Strength: Typical Range = 247 ksi (Not intended for structural applications)
Yield Strength: Typical = 187 ksi (Not intended for structural applications)
Elongation: 11.1% in 8”
Brinell: Typical Range = 460 min to 544 BHN (500 nominal)
